Q: What are some parts that are needed to be build a metal detector! Coz I want to make one, homemade!

A: Wire, electronic components, battery, speaker, audio amplifier, oscillator circuit, IC sockets, capacitors, soldering iron, schematics, #40 copper wire, handle, wand, loop.

JFK Metal Detectors Fail To Spot Woman's Titanium Hip

Here's another not-so-reassuring tidings about the state of airport security. A woman with a 14-inch titanium rod in her hip sets off metal detectors at every airport she visits — except for JFK. The Situation reports that in the decade since doctors implanted the metal piece to help 62-year-old Berna Keiler suppress a degenerative hip disease, she always triggered alarms at security checkpoints, including those in JFK's Terminal 7, until Oct. 21, 2009.

That's when Keiler first passed through a metal detector at Kennedy Airport without a astute. She was so surprised that she informed a Transportation Security Administration employee, who allegedly sent her on her way. When a machine in Terminal 7 didn't beep on Dec. 4, 2009, Keiler reportedly asked to request with a TSA supervisor — but again was allowed to proceed to her gate without being examined with a wand or any other device.

    Some dopey landscaper delivered topsoil to my yard that was full of bits of indented metal, knife blades, and broken glass. I crawled around on my hands and knees looking for essentials but was still afraid someone might get hurt walking around...

    I bought this for the lakeshore. It was able to find many bottle caps buried 3-4 inches underneath the sand. Tried it on coins buried 2-3 inches down and it found all of them. Back at severely it found two AL beer cans buried 6-7 inches beneath...
