Solar Panels?

Q: I am purchasing a home that includes 2 solar panels measuring 8 foot by 4 foot located on the roof. Neither myself or the home inspector located a box that the solar energy would transfered to. should there be a box? also what can i expect from the solar panels? Thanks for the help...

A: Go up to the attic and see if there are wires or pipes coming from the panels. Could be you have a solar water heater. They are more common. Your hot water system will have a circulating pump controlled by a thermostat.

    Are the solar panals for a hot water system or for an electrical system? Different type of panels and they have different purposes. Call a solar expert(check yellow pages) and seek their opinion.

Solar panel project to bring affordable power to African schools, clinics

Rooftop solar panels will at bottom be keeping the lights on in 117 schools and health clinics in rural Kenya . Photovoltaic equipment maker  Go-solar Systems has teamed with renewable liveliness builder  Power Options to wean municipal buildings off of environmentally-damaging and  inconsistent hydropower , and reduce the costs of electricity in impoverished regions.

The schools and health centers receiving the panels are largely off the grid and have never had intensity before. This solar pilot project, costing an estimated $3.63 million, will fundamentally change how they operate, and the services they can tender to surrounding communities. If the photovoltaics installed on top of these buildings successfully deliver affordable power and positively collision people, the project could be expanded across Kenya, including in urban centers. The country has set a goal to make renewable spirit nationally available by 2012.
